Hi, I’m Arwen!

I have been a Stage Manager in Toronto’s vibrant theatre scene for over 20 years. No shade, but I was never the stereotypical Stage Manager who brought baked goodies into the rehearsal hall (yes, it’s a thing), I just didn’t think I enjoyed baking all that much and had other things to do. In early 2016 I took a culinary course at George Brown College for continuing education, and enjoyed it so much I decided to check out their bread-making courses. Much to my chagrin, you could not get into a bread course without first taking, essentially, a Baking 101 course. Cookies and pies and cakes and booorrrring! I wanted breads! And I wanted breads so much that I took the dang course.

Well, I loved it. I loved the precision, the artistry, the smiles on peoples’ faces, the glorious creations!

In 2018, after much soul-searching, I decided to enroll as a full-time student at George Brown College. A year later, I graduated with honours from their renowned Baking and Pastry Arts program. It was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I still Stage Manage (prior to the pandemic, at least!), and I enjoy it, but baking makes my heart sing (even those days when the alarm goes off at 4am!).

I am an artistic and passionate baker, and I put a lot of thought and love into my products. I hope you enjoy!
